Research Interest

Focus: Cell and Developmental Biology using Dictyostelium discoideum as a model organism.

Dictyostelium discoideum is a lower eukaryotic organism completing its life cycle in 24 hours, transitioning from unicellular vegetative states to complex multicellular stages like Aggregation, Slug, and Culminant during starvation.

Environmental & Institutional Impact

Dr. Kumar serves as the In-charge of the Eco-Club. He co-compiled the booklet "Maltidhari College- An Educational Hub and Ideal Habitat for Flora and Fauna" (2022) with Dr. Sheo Kumar. His recent research also utilizes satellite imagery to track land-use changes within the college campus since 2007.
